Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Canada to participate in the 51st G-7 Summit. The G-7 Summit has been organized in Kananaskis, Alberta. PM Modi, who has reached Calgary, Canada, will soon head to Kanakaskis.

Canadian PM had sent the invitation.

Prime Minister Modi has arrived to participate in the G-7 Summit at the invitation of Canadian PM Mark Carney. The heads of France, America, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and Italy participated in this summit of 16-17 June. This is the sixth consecutive time that PM Modi is going to be a part of the G-7 Summit.

PM Modi will not meet Trump.

Let us tell you that the first day of the G-7 Summit was great. However, US President Donald Trump left in the middle. In such a situation, PM Modi and Trump will not be able to meet now. Giving information about Trump's return, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said-

"President Trump met UK PM Keir Starmer at the G-7 summit and signed major trade agreements. However, due to the situation in the Middle East, President Trump could not have dinner with the heads of state."

Why is PM Modi's visit to Canada special?

Let us tell you that this is the first time PM Modi has visited Canada after the tension between India and Canada. In 2023, Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Puri was killed outside a gurdwara in Canada, in which the involvement of an Indian agent was claimed. Since then, there has been a sourness in the relations between New Delhi and Ottawa. The then Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also left no stone unturned to spoil relations with India.
