IPL 2021: Glenn Maxwell reveals the secret, why RCB are succeeding

SRH vs RCB: Glenn Maxwell, who played a key role in the Royal Challengers Bangalore win against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, says his role in the RCB team is similar to that of the Australia team. Also, this role has already been decided by this team.

It is worth mentioning that Maxwell was part of the team of Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in IPL 2020, but for Punjab, he could score only 108 runs in 13 matches of last season. Also, in IPL 2020, there was not a single six off his bat. After his performance, Punjab released him before the IPL 2021 auction.

However, despite the poor figures of Maxwell in IPL 2020, Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for a hefty amount of Rs 14 crore. Maxwell, who scored 108 last season, has scored 98 runs in just two matches of this season for RCB.

On Wednesday, on a slow Chennai pitch against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Maquel played brilliant innings of 59 runs in 41 balls and played an important role in the team's victory. Talking about his role in the team after the Bangalore victory, Maxwell said, "It's a good start. It's a new franchise for me and they have fixed my role. The batsmen who are behind me are the best and I have the same role here Which is for the Australia team. "

Maxwell went on to say, "Captain Virat Kohli is good at giving me the task. This is my fourth IPL team and I have pressure to leave my mark. The support staff is also backing me up."

Five years later, half-century off Maxwell's bat

Significantly, Maxwell has scored a half-century in the IPL after five years. Earlier, in the IPL 2016, he had a half-century with his bat. His highest score in IPL 2017 was 47 and in IPL 2018 his highest score was 47 runs. At the same time, he was not part of this league in IPL 2019. At the same time, in the IPL 2020, he could have scored the maximum 32 runs in a match.
