In this letter to Kovind on Sunday, a day before he stepped down as the President, PM Modi also recalled his journey from a small village in Uttar Pradesh to Rashtrapati Bhavan. He wrote, \'You set an example for the development of our country and you are the inspiration of our society. You have strong determination and a deep commitment to dignity, ethics, and integrity throughout your life and career. It is at the core of Indian public behavior and reinforces the highest respect and responsibility for the principles of our Constitution.

Kovind has shared this letter written by PM Modi from his official Twitter handle. In this, PM Modi praised Kovind\'s tenure and wrote that as the first citizen, they cared about the weakest person in the country. While wishing Kovind, he wrote that it was very special for me to meet and talk to my mother. The Prime Minister has also praised the tenure of the former President while holding the highest constitutional post in the country.

Referring to Kovind\'s actions, interventions, and speeches as President, the PM said that he has best represented India in the country and the world. Referring to his relationship with Kovind, the PM wrote that he was a BJP member for a long time before being appointed first as the Governor of Bihar and then as the President, during which his talks go beyond his presidential term.
