The Maharashtra government has launched an emergency WhatsApp helpline for state citizens stranded in the Middle East amid the ongoing conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran, officials said on Tuesday. The airspace has been closed due to the Iran war, leaving hundreds of Maharashtra residents stranded there. However, it is a matter of relief that all citizens are safe.

CM is personally monitoring the situation

The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) stated on social media that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is personally monitoring the situation. He is in constant contact with various agencies and the central government. The central government is also providing all possible assistance. The Chief Minister has assigned state minister Girish Mahajan the responsibility of coordinating the entire effort. The state government, in collaboration with the Indian People's Forum in Dubai, has launched a WhatsApp helpline number (+971 50 365 4357). Citizens in need of assistance can contact this number.

Congress MPs are also stranded

US President Donald Trump has stated that heavy bombing of Iran will continue this week or as long as necessary. Due to this situation, several air routes in West Asia have been closed, causing significant flight disruptions and stranding passengers. Officials are now collecting data on stranded citizens from other parts of Maharashtra. Congress MP Kalyan Kale from Jalna is among those stranded in Dubai. His brother, Jagannath Kale, said they flew there on Friday, just a day after the attacks began.
