On the other hand, Virat Kohli has slipped to 9th place in the ranking of batsmen and Ravindra Jadeja has slipped to second place in the all-rounder's ranking.
In the Bangalore Test against Sri Lanka, Jasprit Bumrah showed the way to the pavilion to a total of 8 batsmen with the first 5 wicket haul on home soil. He has moved up to fourth place, leaving behind Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi, Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee, James Anderson, Neil Wagner, and Josh Hazlewood.
On the other hand, Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne has jumped three places to reach the top 5 in the batsmen's rankings. Karunaratne scored a century in the second innings of the Bangalore Test against India but he could not save the team from defeat. This is the career-best ranking of Karunaratne. He is now in the top 5 along with Marnus Labuschagne, Joe Root, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson.
West Indies' Nkrumah Bonner and India's Shreyas Iyer made big jumps, moving up 22 and 40 places to be at 22nd and 37th places, respectively.
