Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said how the 'Mukhyamantri Gantri Ghar Ghar Ration Yojana', which has been brought for doorstep delivery of rations in Delhi, can be started despite the central government's objection. In a review meeting called, a very important decision has been taken. Kejriwal has said to remove the name from this scheme.
After the meeting, Kejriwal said during a press conference that from March 25 of this month, a very revolutionary scheme called 'Mukhyamantri Ghar-Ghar Ration Yojana' was going to be started in Delhi. As we all know that the government gives cheap ration to the poor. Till now people used to get ration in shops. It takes long lines of people to get ration. Ration shops occasionally open. There is adulteration of grains coming in ration shops. Shopkeepers often make more money and have various problems.
Kejriwal said that after discussing with a lot of people, the Delhi government found out a solution some time ago that as much wheat is made, as much flour as rice is made, they should be packed in sacks and brought home, then the problem related to ration distribution is Will be solved Thinking this, it was decided to start the 'Mukhyamantri Ghar-Ghar Ration Yojana' in Delhi. It was to be started from March 25, but on Friday in the afternoon a letter has come to us from the Central Government that you cannot implement this ration scheme. Knowing why we could not apply, we were shocked?
The reason given in that letter is that the scheme cannot be named 'Chief Minister House-to-Home Ration Scheme'. He probably has a problem with the word Chief Minister. We want to tell you that we are not doing this to name ourselves. We are not doing it to make our name shine. We are not doing this to take any credit. It has been written in the letter that the state government will get the scheme due to the Chief Minister being written. I want to clearly state that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is not working for any credit, all the credit to them, all my work, all my responsibility.
This morning I held a meeting with the authorities and asked them to remove the name from the scheme. Now he will not have any name. Just the ration that used to be distributed through the shops, now it will be delivered directly from door to door. We do not have to get into any name or credit. I understand that the objections of the Central Government will be overcome after this decision and the Central Government will give its approval to implement it.
Kejriwal said that it is very important for me to remove the ration mafia and to provide ration to the people. My struggle with the ration mafia grew 22 years from today. I used to work in the Income Tax Department. During that time, I worked inside the slums. At the same time, it was found that there is a problem in getting ration. During that time, through RTI, he had found out how people's fake rations were being stolen by making fake signs. During that time we raised our voice against it. During that time there were attacks against many activists. But it did not yield anything special. We could not change that system. Luckily, our government was formed in Delhi. We have the right to decide on this. In the last few years, I have been directly involved with this matter, how people can get ration directly from door to door.
This is a very good plan. Ration will be reached gradually through this scheme. For three-four years I have been fighting against this ration mafia. Now when our dream was being fulfilled, then this bottleneck came yesterday, so our heart was broken. We will accept all the conditions of the central government. Our only aim is to provide ration to the people at home. Now I hope that this will not cause any reservations to the Center. This is not a new plan. There will be no name for it, but the ration will reach every household. On Monday, we will take a cabinet decision and send its proposal to the central government.
