Chandrayaan-3: Rover Pragyan records wonderful event on Moon's south pole, ISRO engaged in investigation

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said on Thursday that the rover Pragyan moving on the lunar surface has recorded an amazing phenomenon on the south pole of the moon. It is believed to be a natural phenomenon and ISRO is trying to find out the source of the phenomenon. Rover Pragyan has recorded a special seismic vibration on the moon.

ISRO tweeted the information

As an in-situ scientific experiment, the ILSA (Instrument of Lunar Seismic Activity) payload mounted on the lander of Chandrayaan-3 is equipped with Micro Electro Mechanical Systems technology. For the first time, such an instrument has been sent to the Moon. Recorded the movement of rover Pragyan and other payloads. Meanwhile, an incident was also recorded on 26 August 2023. This phenomenon seems natural right now. However, it is being investigated.

ISRO reported that the ILSA payload recorded a vibration due to the movement of the rover Pragyan and other payloads on the moon. ILSA is equipped with six high-sensitivity accelerometers. These accelerometers have measured vibrations on the surface of the Moon. The ILSA payload has been designed by the Laboratory for Electro-Optics Systems, Bangalore. Private companies have also helped in this. At the same time, the mechanism to deploy ILSA on the moon has been prepared at UR Rao Satellite Center in Bangalore.

The presence of sulfur confirmed

Earlier on Tuesday, the rover confirmed the presence of sulfur on the moon. The Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscope instrument on the rover has confirmed the presence of sulfur on the lunar surface. Many other natural elements have also been found on the moon. Now the presence of hydrogen on the moon is being investigated.
