Lakhimpur Kheri: Supreme Court not satisfied with the action of the UP government, adjourned the hearing till October 20

Posted on 8th Oct 2021 02:44 pm by rohit kumar

The Supreme Court on Friday heard the Lakhimpur Kheri case. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court said that it is not satisfied with the steps taken by the Uttar Pradesh government in the investigation of the Lakhimpur Kheri case. The court, while making a stern remark in the matter, said, if the accused was a common man, he would have got so much exemption. Only local officials have been kept in the SIT. This case is not such that it would not be right to hand over it to the CBI. We'll have to look some other way. Keep DGP evidence safe. Now the next hearing of the case will be on October 20.

The court asked the Uttar Pradesh government that even when serious allegations like death or gunshot injuries are involved in the case, are the accused treated like this? The Supreme Court said that eight people were brutally murdered in this case and the law should take its course against all the accused. The court further said that understanding the seriousness of the matter, we hope that the UP government will take necessary steps in this matter.

Senior advocate Harish Salve is representing Uttar Pradesh in the Supreme Court. He said in the court that Ajay Mishra is being targeted. He will appear in court tomorrow morning. A notice has been sent to them.

Earlier on Thursday, the court had asked the UP government to submit a status report in the matter today. The top court has asked the state government that how many people have been booked and who have been arrested.

A bench of CJI NV Ramana, Justice Suryakant, and Justice Hima Kohli is hearing the matter. During the hearing on Thursday, the court had told the Uttar Pradesh government that it will tell in the status report tomorrow, against whom FIRs have been registered and whether they have been arrested or not. Along with this, the court had also ordered the UP government to make immediate arrangements for the immediate treatment of the ailing mother who lost her son in the violence.

On October 4, eight people, including four farmers and a journalist, had died during the farmers' protest. The farmers allege that the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra was crushed to death by the vehicles involved in the convoy, while the other side says that the farmers attacked him during the demonstration and the vehicles became uncontrollable in this chaos. And the accident happened.

The police have pasted the notice late on Thursday evening at the house of Ashish Mishra Monu, son of the Union minister, the main accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri case. In which he has been summoned before the crime branch of the police on Friday. It will be seen whether the police will arrest Monu during this conversation or will release him after interrogation. The eyes of the media across the country are fixed on this inquiry.
