Indian team's star batsman and long-time Rajasthan Royals player Sanju Samson's relationship with the franchise is on the verge of ending. According to reports, Samson may lose the captaincy of RR before IPL 2026. Before the mini auction of the next IPL, he himself had told the franchise about being released from the team.

After Dravid, Sanju Samson may be separated from RR

Actually, Rajasthan Royals' performance in IPL 2025 was very disappointing. The team won only 4 out of 14 matches and finished 9th in the points table. Meanwhile, reports came that Samson wants to play for another franchise.

It was told that there was talk of trade with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) regarding Samson, in which there was a proposal to send Shivam Dubey or Ravindra Jadeja to Rajasthan, but it was rejected.

This whole matter came to the fore when Rahul Dravid recently resigned from the post of head coach of the Rajasthan Royals.

However, sources say that there were no serious differences between Dravid and Samson. There was only a clash of ideas between the two, as is usually the case between a coach and a captain. In the last few matches, the understanding between the two was also seen to improve.

According to the Cricbuzz report,

"Apart from his injury, Sanju Samson was unhappy with the condition of the team during the IPL. But Rahul Dravid cannot be held completely responsible for this. There were just normal differences between the two, as often happens between a coach and a captain. Actually, both Samson and Dravid have been associated with the Rajasthan Royals for a long time, and their partnership was considered important for the future of the team. In the last few matches, the coordination between the two also looked better and helped the team win. "

The report further said, "There are three different ideologies regarding captaincy within the franchise. One group considers Riyan Parag as the future captain, who also led the team in some matches. On the other hand, some people are pushing the name of Yashasvi Jaiswal. At the same time, the third group wants Samson to remain the captain."
