
In Maha Kumbh, devotees are also fulfilling the pledge of cleanliness. From 13 to 31 January, 31.46 crore devotees, which is about nine times the population of Delhi, came from all over the country and the world and took a dip in the Sangam. But, in 19 days, only about six thousand metric tons of garbage was generated in the fair area.
According to Prayagraj Municipal Corporation, an average of three hundred and four hundred metric tons of garbage is generated here every day, and on special festivals, four hundred metric tons of garbage is generated. It is being sent to the plant located in Ghurpur. The population of Delhi is about 3.46 crore.
According to MCD, 11 thousand metric tons of garbage is generated here every day. On the other hand, according to the report of the Pollution Control Board, Lucknow is at the first place in emitting garbage in UP and Kanpur is at the second place.
Based on the 2011 census, the population of Lucknow is 45,89,838. An average of two thousand metric tons of garbage is generated here every day. On the other hand, the population of Kanpur is 45,81,268. An average of 1150 metric tons of garbage is generated here every day.
31.46 crore devotees have taken a dip in the fair which started on 13th January. Despite this, very little garbage is thrown in the fair area and ghats. The special thing is that even the spit of paan-masala will not be seen in the fair.
Cleaning workers are also engaged with full readiness and start picking up garbage wherever they see it. After processing the garbage in the plant every day, RDF is sent to the cement factory.
