Another trouble may arise in front of Uddhav Thackeray in Maharashtra. In fact, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has issued instructions to conduct an audit of the work of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for the last two years. For this he has approached the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). It is worth noting that on August 24, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had announced in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly to conduct a CAG audit of the works of BMC.

Work done from 2019 will be investigated

Under the order issued by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, it has been decided by the BMC to conduct an audit of the works done between November 28, 2019 and February 28, 2022. During this period there was a government of Mahavikas Aghadi in the state. After this order, projects worth Rs 12,000 crore of BMC have now come under the purview of CAG.

There is an allegation of rigging during Corona

According to media reports, the then government is accused of rigging during the Corona epidemic. The report said that in June and July 2021, the BMC had issued orders for oxygen plants in hospitals. Its contract was given to a blacklisted company. Apart from this, other tenders are also under scrutiny.
