A day after the controversy started over the bag check of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, BJP has shared a video of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. This video shows the security check of Fadnavis' bag. BJP targeted Uddhav Thackeray through this video and said that some leaders have a habit of showing off. The party also said that Fadnavis did not make the bag check an issue, while Thackeray created a ruckus over it.
Maharashtra BJP said in a post on the social media platform 'X' that Fadnavis' bags were checked in Yavatmal on November 7 and Kolhapur on November 5. But he did not make it an issue. BJP targeted the opposition alliance's slogan 'Save Constitution' and said that just showing the Constitution is not enough, but it should also be implemented in true form.
A video went viral on social media, in which Uddhav Thackeray was seen questioning an officer during the bag check-in in Yavatmal. Thackeray is heard saying, "I will not stop you... You are doing your duty. I am doing my duty. Search... whatever you want to, but have you checked the bags of Devendra Fadnavis, (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi, or (Union Home Minister) Amit Shah?" When the official said that BJP leaders have not campaigned in the area yet, Thackeray asked him to ensure that whenever these leaders come to the area, their bags are also checked and videos are sent.
Sanjay Raut reacts
Uddhav Thackeray's close aide and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said he has no problem with the probe provided it is done impartially. He also alleged that Rs 25 crore has already reached the places where (Chief Minister) Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis are contesting.

On this, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde hit back saying that Sanjay Raut has a habit of making absurd allegations. When Shinde was campaigning, his bag was also checked in Nashik, but Shinde did not make any ruckus over it like the Thackeray faction did.
