Even after the formation of the government in Maharashtra, the political battle between Uddhav and Shinde camp continues. Now the leaders of both camps are taking legal recourse to save the legislature of their MLAs. Shinde camp asked the speaker to initiate disqualification proceedings against the MLAs of the Uddhav camp, after which the Uddhav camp has now filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on it. At the same time, after hearing the arguments, the Supreme Court has listed Uddhav's petition, which will be heard on July 20.
three-judge bench
The Supreme Court has constituted a three-judge bench to hear the Maharashtra crisis. This bench will hear the matter on July 20. A bench of Chief Justice NV Ramana, Justices Krishna Murari, and Hema Kohli will hear the petitions filed by the Uddhav Thackeray-led camp and the Eknath Shinde camp. Earlier on July 11, the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena got a big relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court had for the time being deferred the hearing in the disqualification case of 16 MLAs of the Shinde faction and said that a bench would be constituted in this matter. This process will take time. Apart from this, the Supreme Court had said that the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker cannot decide on the disqualification notice until the court gives its decision.
