After the Coronavirus infection, another virus has increased the concern of the world. The virus named Marburg has killed nine people in Africa so far. This virus is very similar to Ebola. Till now no vaccine is effective for this virus.

Regarding the new virus, India's health expert says that Marburg is a rare and very dangerous virus. The patient coming in contact with it has a high fever. In this, the infected person needs immediate treatment. If there is a delay in its treatment or the infection is severe, then the death of the patient can also happen. Any person who shows symptoms of the Marburg virus should immediately consult a doctor. However, its effect is not yet visible in India. So there is nothing to worry about.

Regarding the infection of the new virus, the World Health Organization says that Marburg is a very deadly virus. Which reaches people from bats and then spreads from one person to another. Due to this, the infected person gets a hemorrhagic fever. After this, the person reaches a critical condition. Of the patients reported so far in Africa, 88 percent have died. The Africa unit of the World Health Organization says that the new virus is very dangerous. This virus belongs to the Ebola family only. After getting infected with the virus, a person starts showing sudden symptoms. This virus reaches humans from fruit bats. The death rate of people infected with this is 88 percent. Symptoms of the Marburg virus begin suddenly in a patient over two to 21 days. Its main symptoms are fever, chills, and headache. A few days after these symptoms, a rash appears on the chest, back, and abdomen. Apart from this, vomiting, chest pain, sore throat, abdominal pain, and diarrhea can be symptoms of this virus.

These are the symptoms of the Marburg virus

According to the World Health Organisation, symptoms of the Marburg virus can start suddenly and include high fever, severe headache, and malaise. Apart from these, there may also be complaints of muscle aches and pains. This virus can affect every organ. This can lead to easy bleeding. A skin rash may appear in the first seven days. This can affect the central nervous system, causing you to have confusion, aggression, and irritability. The victim may die eight to nine days after the onset of the virus.

There is currently no vaccine for Marburg and no drugs or treatments to treat it. But patients can be helped. However, patient care is necessary to reduce the symptoms. Give the patient plenty of fluids and try to maintain electrolyte balance. This can increase the risk of death to a great extent.

What is the Marburg virus, this is how it spreads

Marburg virus originated in African fruit bats. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it was first identified in Germany and the former Yugoslavia in 1967 among people who worked with green monkeys imported from Uganda. According to WHO, such people who work for long hours in mines or caves are more at risk because bats are found in such places. The virus is spread between humans through direct contact with the blood or other bodily fluids of an infected person through surfaces contaminated with the virus, such as clothing or bedding. Marburg is not airborne.
