Massive dome of a mosque in Jakarta, Indonesia collapses after a fire

The massive dome of the Islamic Center mosque in Jakarta, Indonesia, collapsed like a pack of cards after a massive fire broke out on Wednesday. This scene was such, seeing that people got goosebumps. However, according to local media, no one died in this accident. It is being told that the fire broke out in the dome complex when the renovation work was going on. The fire spread so fast that the entire dome collapsed.

A video of the collapse of the huge dome of the mosque of Jakarta has also surfaced. It is seen in this video that a part of a dome is on fire. Many people are engaged in extinguishing this fire, but due to the strong wind, the fire is moving upwards. Smoke is visible around the dome. Suddenly the dome collapses like a deck of cards. After this, only a plume of smoke is visible all around.

 

The dome fell, but no casualties

According to the report of Gulf Today, every effort was being made to douse the fire in the dome, when it collapsed. However, the fire started much earlier, so people were evacuated from the surroundings. So when the dome fell, there was no damage of any kind. Officials said that no one was injured in the accident.

 

How did the Jakarta dome catch fire?

The local administration said that the dome has been destroyed due to the fire. According to Indonesian media, firefighters were notified of the blaze at 3 p.m. local time. After this 10 fire engines were sent. But the fire was so severe that the dome was not saved from collapsing. No official statement has been issued about how the dome caught fire. However, according to the media, renovation work was going on in the dome. It is feared that the fire may have started during this time.
