Modi's hectic day one in office

Prime Minister Narendra Modi&rsquo;s first day in office began on a hectic note Tuesday as he had back-to-back meetings with dignitaries and delegates from the SAARC nations, as well as his cabinet ministers.<br /><br />8 a.m.: Modi takes charge at his South Block office.<br /><br />9:30 a.m.: Meets Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai at the stately Hyderabad House.<br /><br />10:05 a.m.: Meets Maldives President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.<br /><br />10:30 a.m.: Meets Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa.<br /><br />10:55 a.m.: Meets Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. <br /><br />11:20 a.m.: Meets Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam.<br /><br />11:45 a.m.: Meets Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.<br /><br />12:10 p.m.: Meets Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.<br /><br />12:45 p.m.: Met Bangladesh parliament Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury. <br /><br />4:30 p.m.: Meets former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the latter's 3, Motilal Nehru Marg where he has shifted after laying down office.<br /><br />5 p.m.: Holds his first cabinet meeting in South Block.<br /><br />7:15 p.m.: Leaves for Gujarat Bhavan, where he is temporarily staying; continues meetings.
