Morena Baccarin to play female lead in 'Deadpool'

Los Angeles, Feb 19 (IANS) “Homeland” actress Morena Baccarin will play the female lead in the action-adventure film “Deadpool”.

Directed by Tim Miller, the film stars Ryan Reynolds as an assassin who undergoes a procedure to cure his cancer that ends up leaving him twisted and scarred but also imbued with super powers, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

Baccarin will star opposite Reynolds, portraying his love interest. The duo will be joined by T.J. Miller and Gina Carano

“Deadpool”, which is based on a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, is expected to go on floor in March.

The film is expected to release in early 2016.
