Kolkata, Jan 24 (IANS) A woman was Saturday arrested for killing her three-month-old baby girl in West Bengal's Burdwan district, police said.

According to a police complaint filed by the baby's father, the woman - a resident of Katwa - had an illicit affair with the baby's paternal uncle and the duo suffocated the infant to death.

"We have arrested the woman and she has confessed to the crime. The uncle of the baby is absconding," Superintendent of Police S.M.H. Meerza said.
