On the occasion of the completion of 10 years of Mudra Yojana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the beneficiaries. PM Modi wrote on 'X', 'I had invited Mudra beneficiaries from all over India to my residence. They shared interesting information about the changes in their lives due to this scheme.'
'Mudra Yojana turned many dreams into reality'
He wrote, 'Today, as we complete 10 years of Mudra Yojana, I want to congratulate all those whose lives have changed due to this scheme. In this decade, Mudra Yojana has turned many dreams into reality. It has empowered people who were previously deprived of financial support. This shows that nothing is impossible for the people of India!'
'The scheme also ensured social inclusion and economic independence'
He further wrote, 'It is particularly encouraging that half of the Mudra beneficiaries are from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Class communities and more than 70% of the beneficiaries are women! Every Mudra loan brings with it dignity, self-esteem, and opportunity. Apart from financial inclusion, the scheme has also ensured social inclusion and economic independence.
'Will continue to focus on ensuring a strong ecosystem'
He also wrote that in the times to come, our government will continue to focus on ensuring a strong ecosystem where every aspiring entrepreneur has access to credit, which will give him the opportunity to move forward with confidence.
Beneficiaries told their own stories.
A beneficiary from Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh said, '...We promise you that together we will make India a developed India. Now we have no problem getting licenses from the government... I run a bakery. My monthly turnover is Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh and we have a staff of 7 to 8 people.'
