Tesla's chief and the world's richest businessman Elon Musk has filed a counterclaim on his behalf in court in the dispute over the acquisition with Twitter. Let us tell you that Twitter had knocked the court against Musk in the case of canceling the $ 44 billion deal. Now Elon Musk has also filed a reply on his behalf in this matter.
On Friday (July 29), Musk's legal team filed a 164-page counterclaim in court. In which the allegations made by the microblogging site have been answered. Now the hearing in this legal battle between Musk and Twitter will start on October 17. In this case, filed in the Delaware Court of Chancery, Judge Kathleen McCormick has issued an official schedule in this regard, saying that the trial of this case will run from October 17 to October 21.
According to media reports, in the counterclaim filed by Elon Musk, he has responded to the allegations leveled against him in connection with the cancellation of the Twitter acquisition deal. Although the 164-page counterclaim filed by Musk's lawyers has not been made public, experts say a revised copy of the counterclaim may be made public soon as per court rules.
Let us tell you that after Musk offered to buy micro-blogging site Twitter for the US $ 44 billion, he backed out in the middle of the acquisition process. After that Twitter approached the court to compel him to do so.
Twitter had told the court in its application that the deal could not end like this. This deal should be completed at the earliest as the business of the micro-blogging site is being damaged due to the controversy. Musk had promised to buy Twitter shares for US$54.20 but is now stepping back from the US$44 billion deal.
At the same time, Musk has also accused Twitter in his letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission in this matter that Twitter is not discharging its obligations regarding the agreement. He is not sharing the correct information about fake accounts and spam on his platform.
