National Herald Case: Rahul Gandhi to appear before ED today in money laundering case, security increased

Former Congress President and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi will appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday in a money laundering case related to the National Herald. Because of Rahul's appearance, an additional security force has been deployed outside the ED office. Let us tell you, ED called Rahul on June 13 and Sonia Gandhi on June 23. The ED will interrogate both of them under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

Sonia Gandhi seeks three weeks from ED

 

ED has sent a fresh summons to Sonia Gandhi for questioning in the money laundering case related to National Herald. Now he has been called by the ED on June 23. Earlier, Sonia was to appear before the ED on June 8, but she could not appear due to being infected with Corona. He had sought three weeks from the ED.

In fact, on November 1, 2012, Subramanian Swamy had filed a case in the National Herald case in Delhi's Patiala House Court. Apart from Rahul and Sonia, senior Congress leaders Motilal Vora, Oscar Fernandes, Suman Dubey, and Sam Pitroda were made accused in this case. Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes have passed away. Now the matter is presently going on in the special court at Rouse Avenue. It is alleged that Young Indian Private Limited obtained the right of recovery of Rs 90.25 crore of Associated Journals, whereas only Rs 50 lakh was paid to get this right.
