After this, in the second attempt, Neeraj threw the javelin 84.49 meters and achieved the number one position.
Neeraj faced tough competition from his countryman Kishore Jena for the gold medal. Jena threw 86.77 meters in her third attempt and pushed Neeraj to second place. However, after this, in his fourth attempt, Neeraj gave his full strength and threw the javelin 88.88 meters confirming his gold medal in the Asian Games 2023.
