A Nepalese army spokesman said in a tweet, "Search and rescue teams have located the plane crash site." Details will be followed.' Tara Air's 9 NAET twin-engine aircraft, carrying 22 people, including four Indians, crashed in Kowang village of Mustang district, hours after it went missing in the hilly district on Sunday morning.
dead bodies not being identified
A team led by Police Inspector Raj Kumar Tamang reached the accident site by air. Officials said some of the bodies of the passengers are yet to be identified. At the moment, the police are collecting the remains.
Search operation resumed on Monday morning
Earlier today, the Nepal Army said that the rescue effort has been resumed to find the Tara Airplane. All helicopters deployed in search of the crashed plane were closed after a snowfall in the Mustang district on Sunday.
Four Indians were also on board the plane
According to the information given by the local people to the Nepal Army, the Tara Air plane crashed at the mouth of the Lamche river due to a landslide in Manapati Himal. There were 4 Indians, 3 foreigners, and 13 Nepalese nationals in this 19-seater aircraft. According to sources, army officials saw smoke rising from a distance, following which the aircraft was traced.
Difficulty in rescue due to bad weather
Army spokesman Narayan Silwal said that according to the information given by the local people to the Nepal Army, the Tara Air plane crashed at the mouth of the Lamche river due to a landslide. Nepal's army was finding it difficult to rescue due to bad weather.
The plane took off on Sunday morning
A Tara Airplane took off in Nepal on Sunday morning. According to airport officials, Tara Air's double-engine aircraft took off from Pokhara to Jomsom in the morning. The last contact with the plane was made at 9:55 am. Officials said the plane was only for a 15-minute flight and had 22 passengers on board. The plane was feared to have crashed even after 5 hours as there was no clue.
