After the defeat from Pakistan, the eyes of Team India are now fixed on the match to be played against New Zealand. The T20 World Cup match between India and New Zealand will be played in Dubai on 31 October. Winning this match is a must for Kohli & Co if they want to stay in the tournament. However, before this match, some such figures are coming out for the Indian team and fans, which is worrying.

Waiting for victory for 18 years

A total of 7 matches of ICC events have been played between India and New Zealand from the 2007 T20 World Cup to the final of the World Test Championship held this year and the Kiwi team has been successful in registering 6 wins. At the same time, one match was inconclusive due to rain. In T20 WC, both the teams faced a total of two times during this period and both the times the Indian team had to face defeat. New Zealand defeated India by 10 runs in the 2007 T20 WC and by 47 runs in the 2016 T20 WC.

The last victory was in 2003

In the 2003 ODI World Cup, Team India defeated New Zealand for the last time in an ICC tournament. India won this match by 7 wickets. After that India could never beat the Kiwi team in major tournaments. In the semi-finals of the 2019 ODI World Cup, it was the New Zealand team that defeated India and broke the country's dream of winning the World Cup in an instant. Williamson & Co defeated India by 18 runs in the semi-final match played on two days due to rain.

This year also in the WTC final, New Zealand won the first title of the Test Championship after defeating India by 8 wickets. During the WTC also, a two-Test series was played between the two countries, in both of which NZ tasted victory.

India is also behind in the T20 record

A total of 16 matches have been played between India and New Zealand in the overall T20 cricket and in this also the Kiwi team was able to win the maximum number of 8 matches, while India could win only 6 matches. 2 matches were tied.
