Good news for Indians stranded in Ukraine: Government lifts ban on operating flights due to Corona, Air India announces to send special flights

The Indian government has become active after complaints from Indian students stranded in Ukraine about not getting flights. The government has lifted the ban on operating limited flights to and from Ukraine under the air bubble agreement due to the coronavirus. Indian Aviation Ministry announced this today and said that now airlines can operate any number of flights to Ukraine. Also, specially chartered flights can be operated. After this decision of the ministry, Air India has announced to run special flights to Ukraine.

 

There is a growing uneasiness in Europe over the Ukraine issue. Debashish Panda, PG Research Fellow at the University of Belgium, gave detailed information about this whole matter after research. Debashish said, Europe is dependent on Russia in many respects, if the war starts then the European economy will be shaken. In such a situation, Indian students staying here for a long time will also be affected. Indian students will be left with the option of returning to the country if their fear of war increases or if the war starts. Now Europe and America are waiting for the next move of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

EU tells employees to return

 

The European Union has asked non-essential employees of the embassy in Ukraine to return to the country. Union spokesman Peter Stano said: "We are not vacating the embassy. Just giving non-essential employees a chance to telework from outside the country for some time. Italy's foreign ministry has temporarily asked its citizens to leave Ukraine. Apart from this, it has also been advised not to travel to Donetsk, Luhansk, and the Crimea region.

 

Turkey advised not to go to eastern Ukraine

 

Turkey has advised citizens not to visit eastern Ukraine unless necessary. The Netherlands and Estonia have advised their citizens to leave Ukraine as soon as possible. Ireland has reduced embassy staff. It is noteworthy that on Tuesday, Russia announced the withdrawal of some of its forces from the Ukrainian border. But on Wednesday itself, NATO said that Russia has not reduced its forces, but increased it, calling it a verbal deposit of Russia. Meanwhile, Ukraine celebrated Unity Day on Wednesday.

 

Common people also participated in this unity day program of the Ukrainian government. People everywhere opposed the defense of Ukraine and the plans of Russia. Ukraine's President Zelensky declared a national holiday. Kavita Gupta, a postdoctoral research fellow in Germany, says that the possibility of a direct war between Russia and Ukraine seems less. Those who want to go back to India should take tickets on the commercial flights available. There are many Indian students in Ukraine. His family members are worried about him. Questions are being asked about the availability of flights to India in large numbers.

 

A control room has been set up at the Kyiv Embassy and the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs is in touch with the Ministry of Civil Aviation and all the airlines to increase the air service between India and Ukraine, the embassy said. At present only one Ukraine International Airlines flight is available between Delhi and Ukraine. Apart from this, there are connecting flights from Sharjah, Dubai, Almaty, Frankfurt, and Doha.
