After the lock of the temple which was closed for the last 46 years in the Muslim-dominated area of Khaggu Sarai the city was opened on Sunday, apart from BJP leaders, the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police also visited the temple and paid obeisance. At the same time, the city Qazi Margub Naushahi said that the temple found closed in Sambhal is an example of how much faith Muslims have in other religions.

Bhajan kirtan continued in the temple till Sunday afternoon, but the devotees continued to reach the temple for darshan throughout the day. In the evening, Aarti and Hanuman Chalisa were recited in the temple. Prasad was also distributed.

It is not right to defame Muslims: Qazi

City Qazi Margub Naushahi said that the temple found closed in Sambhal is an example of how much faith Muslims have in other religions. Even after about 46 years, not even a single brick of the temple has been damaged. The money from the donation letter is also present as it is, while false rumors are being spread against Muslims regarding the temple. Muslims have protected the temple till now.

Naushahi said that the real culprits were those people who did not care for the temple because of their selfishness. People who sold their houses and property and left did not look back. No one stopped them from coming to the temple and worshipping. The way to the temple was open even today. It is not right to defame Muslims.

Devotees offered chola to the idol of Hanuman ji.

It is worth noting that on Saturday, a checking campaign was being conducted by the Electricity Department in the locality Khaggu Sarai adjacent to Deepa Sarai in the city. Information was received that a temple nearby had been closed for many decades. DM and SP, who reached the spot, got the locks of the temple opened and when enquired, it was found that this temple had been closed since the riots in the city in 1978.

ASP Shrish Chandra and CO Anuj Chaudhary themselves cleaned the temple, in which old coins and donation boxes were also found. At night, devotees offered chola to the idol of Hanuman ji and distributed prasad after performing aarti of the God.

In the afternoon, BJP leaders and their workers reached the temple and bowed before the Shivaling. After this, District Magistrate Dr. Rajendra Pansia and SP Krishna Kumar Bishnai also reached there. Both the officers went to the temple and applied Tilak bowed their heads and prayed to God for peace.
