The political turmoil that has been going on in the Punjab Congress for the last several months seems to be calming down. Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Navjot Singh Sidhu has resumed work after reaching the party office in Chandigarh. During this, the party's state affairs in-charge Harish Chaudhary was also present.

Let us tell you that earlier the news of Navjot Singh Sidhu's rift with Captain Amarinder Singh was common. After this, the whole country including Punjab also felt the estrangement with the new Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. Like Captain, he also raised questions on many decisions of the Channi government.

According to Congress sources, Navjot Singh Sidhu was hopeful that he would get the chief minister's seat after the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh. However, the party decided to give Punjab the first Dalit Chief Minister. This decision of the party's high command came as an exasperation to Sidhu. A few days after Channi was sworn in, he resigned from the post of Punjab Congress Committee. He tried to connect it with the protection of the self-respect of Punjab.

An attempt was also made to persuade Sidhu to an extent. However, he stuck to his demands and kept questioning the decisions of the Channi government. After this, the attitude of the Congress high command also became tough against Sidhu.

Sidhu met top Congress leaders in Delhi. After this, he announced to withdraw his resignation. Channi and Sidhu met in Uttarakhand in the presence of former Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat and current in-charge Harish Chaudhary. During this, an attempt was made to reduce the rift in their relationship.
