The resolution said that more than 1,700 people lost their lives, a third of whom were children, and 12,900 people were injured. 20,600,000 people are currently in need of humanitarian assistance and 7,900,000 are displaced. It states that currently, more than 5.5 million Pakistanis do not even have clean water to drink. Waterborne diseases remain a major concern in many areas.
