Police are continuously searching for the suspect
Giving information about the incident, the Commissioner of the New York Police Department said that the suspect has not yet been identified. Police officials are currently trying to ascertain the motive behind the firing incident. It is also being told that a total of 16 people injured in the firing have been admitted to the hospital. According to the New York Police, ten people were shot among the injured. Also, the condition of five people is critical, but they are stable.
Police do not rule out a terrorist incident
It is worth noting that there was chaos at the subway station after this incident which took place at 8:30 am local time on Tuesday. New York City Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said the attack was not currently being investigated as a terrorist incident. But he didn't deny it either. He said the attacker, dressed as a construction worker and wearing a gas mask, was on a subway (subway-like) train bound for Manhattan. As the train arrived at the 36th Street subway station, he pulled open a canister from his bag, filling the entire compartment with smoke. After that, he started firing. Sewell said that the attacker is said to be a black of strong stature about five and a half feet tall. He has not been identified yet and the reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained.

Later, the consulate also tweeted a tweet that said, 'A very horrific incident of shooting has happened in Brooklyn today. We are in touch with the local authorities.
