One Month of Bhagwant Mann Government: The Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab has given a big gift to the people of the state on the completion of one month of its tenure. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced on Saturday morning to give 300 units of electricity free to the public. 300 units of electricity will be provided free of cost to all the households in the state from July 1.

CM Bhagwant Mann tweeted a few days ago and said that people will get big news on April 16. Since then it was believed that he can announce to fulfill the promise of providing 300 units of free electricity. On Saturday morning, the Punjab government announced that from July 1, every family would get 300 units of electricity-free.

There is no information about the detailed plan yet, but there is also a discussion that free electricity can be stopped for the farmers having more than ten acres of land, but after the completion of one month of the tenure, the government will be able to show the will to take this decision. That would be the thing. Apart from this, people are also waiting for the fulfillment of another big promise of the government. The Aam Aadmi Party had promised to give one thousand rupees per month to every woman.

With the announcement of 300 units of free electricity, the government will have an annual burden of about four thousand crores. The government has prepared a detailed report after discussions with the officials. A few days ago, Aam Aadmi Party's national convener Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Secretary Anirudh Tiwari, Principal Secretary (Power) Dilip Kumar and Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PowerCom) Chief Managing Director (CMD) Baldev Singh Saran had discussed the issue of free electricity. Had a meeting with After this he discussed with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

On the issue of discontinuing free electricity to farmers having land of more than ten acres, the figures which have been placed before the government by the Electricity Department, it has been said that if this is done, then 56 percent electricity is saved. Looking at the figures for 2019, the department said that total electricity of Rs 6060 crore was given that year, out of which the subsidy of 3.10 lakh farmers with more than ten acres is Rs 3407 crore.

The controversy even with big decisions

So far, the government has not given the opposition parties a chance to protest the decisions taken by the government to regularize the contract employees, give 25 thousand jobs and give only one pension to the MLA, like Bhagwant Mann from Delhi before taking every step. Take instructions, it may cost the party in times to come.

The way Arvind Kejriwal called the officials of Punjab in the absence of Bhagwant Mann to decide on electricity, is like serving the issue on a plate to the opposition parties. There was a lot of controversy over this. Of course, Congress has only 18 MLAs, but they are all experienced. At the same time, most of the ruling party's 92 MLAs have been elected for the first time.

real exam in June

The real test of the Bhagwant Mann government will be in the coming budget in June. The decisions are taken by the government so far have only increased the financial burden. These include regularization of contract employees, giving 25 thousand new jobs, etc. Free electricity will also increase the burden. Where will the money come from to fulfill all these announcements, unless its path is shown, it will be difficult to move forward.
