Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had a phone conversation with the Chinese Prime Minister on Monday. While assuring the Chinese PM, Shahbaz said- We will make concrete arrangements for the safety of Chinese citizens. Will also fix law and order soon. During this call, Shahbaz has also spoken about the speedy completion of the project of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) being built for 6 thousand crores. Hours after this conversation, Pakistani police arrested a suspected female fidayeen attacker.
The woman wanted to be the target of the Economic Corridor
Pakistani police stated after the arrest – gunpowder, and bombs have been recovered from the blast from the woman who has been arrested. which were to be used for the next blast. Baloch is a member of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). It was said to strike near the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and target Chinese citizens.
Two weeks ago, 3 Chinese were killed in a fidayeen attack
On April 26, three Chinese professors were killed in a female suicide attack at Karachi University. China had instructed Pakistan to take strict steps to protect its citizens. However, after the attack, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif rushed to the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad at midnight. He had assured that the Chinese would be given strict security in the future.
China asks its citizens to leave Pakistan
He had recalled all the professors teaching in Pakistan after being angered by the attacks on Chinese nationals. Due to this order, professors who taught Mandarin all over Pakistan, including Karachi University, returned to their country.
2021 Chinese citizens lost their lives in three major attacks
In April, the Chinese ambassador in Quetta, Pakistan, was targeted. However, the Chinese ambassador was not harmed in this attack. After this, a bus was blown up by terrorists on 14 July 2021.
Chinese citizens were being taken to Khabair Pakhtunkhwa on this bus. 9 Chinese civilians were killed in this attack, while some people from Pakistan also lost their lives. After this, on August 20, Chinese civilians were targeted near Gwadar Port, in which two children died in this attack.
