The Pakistan cricket team defeated Sri Lanka in the Super Four match, keeping alive their hopes of reaching the Asia Cup 2025 final. Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by five wickets.

 

In the match, the Sri Lankan team set a target of 134 runs for Pakistan, which Pakistan chased down with two overs remaining. Sri Lanka suffered its second defeat in the Super Four, effectively ending its hopes of reaching the final.

After defeating Sri Lanka, Pakistani captain Salman Ali Agha lavishly praised his players in the post-match presentation.

 

PAK vs SL: What did Salman Ali Agha say after defeating Sri Lanka?

Indeed, after winning the Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2025 against Sri Lanka (PAK vs SL Asia Cup Super Four), Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha said, "We started well, but kept losing wickets in the middle overs."

 

He further said,

 

"It can't be called a perfect match because we lost four wickets early. If that hadn't happened, it would definitely have been a perfect match for us. We've been working very hard, and it's paying off on the field."

 

During the post-match presentation, Salman called Pakistan's fielding coach, Shane McDermott, a "rockstar." He said that he's been working very hard with the players. "We've nicknamed him 'Rockstar,' and we're working hard with him. I've seen people working even harder, and when you do these extra things, it definitely pays off on the field."

 

Regarding Shaheen Afridi, captain Salman said,

 

"He's performed consistently well since his return and is an asset to us. Hussain Talat is a great all-rounder whom I've known for many years. I'm also very happy for Nawaz. Abrar is bowling very well; I turn to him whenever we're in trouble."
