The people of Pakistan who are facing an economic crisis have run out of bread. Due to the skyrocketing price of flour, stampedes have been reported at several places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan provinces to get government-subsidized flour. One person died in the stampede at Mirpur Khas in Sindh province.

 

Wheat stocks run out in Pakistan

Jamark Achakzai, the food minister of Balochistan province, told that the wheat stock in the province has run out and there is an urgent need for 4,00,000 bags. He warned of a deepening countrywide crisis. According to The Express Tribune newspaper, thousands of people stand in line for hours every day for subsidized flour. The supply of flour in the market is very less.

 

Distribution of flour in the deployment of security forces

Let us tell you that flour is distributed in mini trucks and vans under the supervision of armed security guards and during that time there is chaos. People push each other, which leads to unwanted incidents. There have been several clashes between flour dealers and traders.

 

160 rupees kg flour in Pakistan

Flour is being sold in Karachi for 140 to 160 Pakistani rupees per kg. A 10 kg bag costs Rs 1,500 in Islamabad and Peshawar, while a 20 kg bag is being sold for Rs 2,800. Mill owners in Punjab have increased the price to Rs 160 per kg. The cost of 20 kg of flour in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is Rs 3,100.

 

The textile industry fired 70 lakh people

The textile and related industries in Pakistan have put about 7 million people out of work. The textile association has claimed that the step has been taken due to the government's failure to overcome the economic crisis and reduced exports. The representatives of the association said that the present government has no policy to address the crisis affecting the industry.
