The situation is getting worse due to the turbulent economy of Pakistan. An unprecedented step has been taken to save electricity in Pakistan. According to the report of Pakistani news channel Geo News, Pakistan's National Economic Council (NEC) has decided to order the closure of markets across the country from 8:30 pm to save energy. The decision was taken by the NEC during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday.

News agency IANS quoted Geo News as saying that the chief ministers of all the provinces, including Shahbaz Sharif, attended the meeting. The National Economic Council (NEC) took the said decision during the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday. Just a day ago, President Arif Alvi had a meeting with Shahbaz Sharif, in which the reorganization of the NEC was approved.

The Chief Ministers of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab participated in the meeting. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was represented by the Chief Secretary of the province, Shehzad Khan. According to the statement issued, the Chief Ministers appreciated the steps being taken by the Central Government to deal with the energy crisis. The four provinces agreed to the proposal to close the market at 8.30 pm to prevent the deepening energy crisis in the country.

The Chief Ministers of Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan have sought two days to implement the decision. He says that he wants to consult the associations of traders in his provinces. Electricity Minister Khurram Dastgir says that by closing the markets early and employees working from home, electricity can be saved. However, the government has assured an uninterrupted power supply to the industrial sector of the country.

It is also worth noting that Pakistan, which is facing a power crisis, has also banned weddings in Islamabad after 10 pm on Wednesday to reduce consumption. The media report said that on the instructions of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the federal government has instructed the Islamabad police and administration to strictly implement the ban. Violation will be severely punished. Apart from this, guests will be allowed to serve only one dish at the wedding, according to Geo News.

A notification will be issued regarding this new restriction. On the other hand, Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that the cabinet has permitted to restoration of the weekly holiday on Saturday in government offices. Now employees can also do work from home on Friday. He said that the cabinet also discussed dealing with the power crisis. However, no decision was taken to close the market after 7 pm to save electricity.
