Several courts have requested that Nawaz Sharif be declared a fugitive. Shahbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif should be tried for contempt of court and the court should order the return of Nawaz Sharif. According to the publication, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his brother Nawaz Sharif, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of External Affairs have been made parties in the petition. The Registrar's Office objected that the application should be brought before the Lahore High Court, as the affidavit was submitted there.

Nawaz Sharif may return to Pakistan in September

Meanwhile, a Pakistani minister has claimed that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif will return home in September. According to a Dawn report, after Shehbaz Sharif became the prime minister in April, the PML-N leader was expecting Nawaz Sharif to return soon.

Nawaz Sharif was sentenced in 2018

In 2018, the court sentenced Nawaz Sharif to seven years in prison in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption case. He was sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison and fined 8 million pounds (1.3 billion rupees).
