
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has set limits on 119 drugs. Due to this, the medicines Paracetamol and Amoxicillin used in Corona have become cheaper. This is the 5th time in a year that the price of medicines has come down. Due to this, the prices of medicines for many serious diseases including cancer, diabetes, fever, and hepatitis will be reduced by 40%.
Cancer medicine has been reduced by a maximum of 40%. In the coming times, ceiling prices of some more drugs included in NLEM will be reduced.
Maximum price of 119 medicines fixed
In the meeting of the National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority, the maximum price per tablet capsule has been fixed for 119 types of formulations included in this list.
The main medicines whose prices have been reduced by the NPPA include fever medicine paracetamol, medicine to reduce uric acid in blood, malaria, and antibiotics used in different diseases.
Apart from this, the maximum price of medicines for meningitis, liver, sugar, menopause, blood thinner, and reducing the speed of cancer tumor growth has been fixed.
