Because of the new threat of Kovid, a committee or task force will be formed to monitor Kovid in Maharashtra. Corona test will be decided at the airport and bus and railway stations following the guidelines of the central government.

The formation of the task force was announced by Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis in the state assembly on Wednesday. On the other hand, Maharashtra Health Secretary Sanjay Khandare said that on the advice of the Union Health Ministry, we will send samples for genome sequencing to laboratories in Pune and Mumbai. Right now about 100 Covid positive cases are being received daily. A genome test of all these will be done.

No plan for a random covid test

Health Secretary Khandare said that as of now we have no plans to start random Covid tests at railway stations, airports, etc. in Maharashtra. We are waiting for further instructions from the Central Government on this issue.

Khandare said in a discussion with ANI that based on the results of genome sequencing and the instructions of the central government, we will decide the Kovid rules for Maharashtra. There are no plans for a large-scale covid test right now. Maharashtra's health system is ready. If needed, we will activate all medical systems related to Covid.

Let us tell you, the Union Health Ministry is holding a meeting today. In this, precautionary steps will be considered considering the situation arising in various countries including China, and its impact on India.
