India's stellar performance continues in the Paris Paralympics 2024 Games. Indian athletes performed brilliantly and won eight medals on Monday and five on Tuesday. The number of medals won by India in this Paralympics has reached 20 so far. This time India has entered these games with a target of crossing 25. In such a situation, Indian athletes are leaving no stone unturned to achieve this target. The story that started with Avni Lekhara continues and many medals can come on the seventh day as well. 84 para-athletes are representing India in the Paris Paralympics. These games are to be held till September 8. India is competing in 12 disciplines, which is three more than Tokyo.
Will it be able to surpass this achievement?
The Paris Paralympics has proved to be the most successful Paralympics for India. Tokyo Paralympics 2020 was India's most successful Paralympics before this. India had sent 54 athletes in it and managed to win 19 medals. These included five gold, eight silver, and six bronze medals. India has broken the record of the Tokyo Paralympics with 20 medals. However, this time the number of gold is still less than in Tokyo. In the Tokyo Paralympics, India won the most gold medals in the history of these games. If Indian athletes manage to win six gold medals, then this record will also be broken. India's rank in Tokyo 2020 was 24, which is the best till date. India has a great opportunity to leave this achievement behind.

India's record in Paralympic Games History
The Paralympic Games began in 1960 with the Rome Paralympic Games. However, India did not participate in the 1960 and then the 1964 Tokyo Paralympic Games. India could not win any medal in the 1968 Tel Aviv Paralympic Games, while in the 1972 Heidelberg Paralympic Games, India won only one medal including one gold. India was then ranked 25. India did not participate in the 1976 Toronto and 1980 Arnhem Paralympic Games. India won four medals in the 1984 Paralympics and ranked 37th. India could not win any medals in the 1988 Seoul, 1992 Barcelona, 1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney Paralympics and 2008 Beijing Paralympics.
India won two medals in the 2004 Athens Paralympics, one in the 2012 London Paralympics, and four in the 2016 Rio Paralympics. India ranked 53rd in 2004, 67th in 2012, and 43rd in 2016. Now India has a chance to create history in the Paris Paralympics. After the disappointing performance of the Indian team in the Paris Olympics, Indian athletes have brought happiness to the faces of their countrymen in the Paralympics. India won a total of six medals in the Paris Olympics 2024. India has so far won a total of 51 medals including 12 gold, 19 silver, and 20 bronze in all the Paralympics.
