PBKS vs CSK: CSK lost four consecutive matches in IPL for the fourth time, has lost the most number of times to Punjab since 2022

The 18th season of IPL has not been anything special for five-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) so far. The team had to face defeat against Punjab Kings, which is its fourth consecutive defeat this season. Punjab Kings returned to the winning track by defeating CSK by 18 runs. CSK has played five matches so far and has won only one match.

 

On the other hand, Punjab has returned to the top four in the points table with a win over CSK. Punjab has six points with three wins and one loss in four matches and is in fourth place. In this match played in Mullanpur, Punjab scored 219 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. In response, CSK could score only 201 runs for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated overs.

 

When did they lose four consecutive matches?

This is the fourth time in IPL history that CSK has lost four consecutive matches in an IPL season. It lost four consecutive matches in 2010, 2022, 2022-23, and now 2025 season. In 2010, the team lost to Punjab, RCB, Mumbai and Rajasthan. At the same time, in 2022, KKR, Lucknow, Punjab, and Hyderabad defeated CSK. In 2022-23, Mumbai, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Gujarat defeated the team. CSK lost the last three matches of the 2022 season and the team also lost the opening match of the 2023 season. In this way, it lost four consecutive matches. Now CSK had to face defeat from RCB, Gujarat, Delhi, and Punjab this season.

 

Punjab has been heavy.

If CSK has lost the most in IPL since 2022, then it is Punjab Kings. Punjab has defeated CSK five times since 2022. Punjab surpassed Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans in this matter, who have defeated CSK four times each. At the same time, Chennai has lost three times each against Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Devon Conway played a half-century innings against Punjab for CSK. Shivam Dubey and Devon Conway added 89 runs in 51 balls for the third wicket. Conway played a strong innings of 69 runs in this match. During this, he completed his half-century in just 37 balls. With this, Conway also completed 1000 runs in IPL. He became the third batsman to complete 1000 runs in the least number of innings. He surpassed Sai Sudarshan and Matthew Hayden in this matter. Sudarshan and Hayden completed 1000 runs in IPL in 25 innings, while Conway did so in just 24 innings.
