New Delhi, Feb 27 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi smiled, laughed and maintained a pleasant demeanour here at Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's grandnephew Tej Pratap Singh's wedding reception.

Tej Pratap has married Raj Laxmi, the youngest daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad.

The function Thursday was also attended by veteran BJP leader L.K. Advani and Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her husband Robert Vadra also marked their presence.

Considering that several politicians were present, the colour white stood out as far as the attires were concerned.

Modi, who exuded charm and a peaceful vibe in a white kurta pyjama teamed up with a dark shade Nehru jacket, was also seen interacting with other guests. In one photograph, Modi is seen caught in a candid chat with Lalu Prasad and Mulayam Singh.

On the other hand, Robert and Priyanka colour co-ordinated their appearance with Priyanka wearing a black sari with golden work on it, and Robert donning a black blazer over his white shirt.

While the bride emanated charm in a heavily embellished red ensemble, the groom also made a style statement in a blingy sherwani.

Other than the glitz and glamour, elaborate arrangements were also put in place for the lavish event.

For the couple, pre-wedding celebrations started Feb 21 with their tilak ceremony, which was held in Saifai in Uttar Pradesh briefly attended by Modi.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan also graced the occasion in Saifai, and later took to his official blog to share his experience.

He wrote: "It was the wedding engagement of Mulayam Singh ji's nephew with Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter in Saifai, the hometown in Uttar Pradesh of Mulayam Singh ji. A journey that can only be described as one filled with importance, reverence and adrenalin."
