Modi tweeted and said, 'We have set an important stage in our resolve to provide strong house to every poor of the country. The construction of more than three crore houses has been possible only with the participation of the people. These houses equipped with basic facilities have also become a symbol of women's empowerment today.
2.52 crore strong houses were built under PM Awas Yojana (Rural)
Under PM Awas Yojana (Gramin), 2.52 crore strong houses for the poor have been completed so far. For this, an assistance amount of Rs 1.95 lakh crore has been released by the central government. In this scheme, each beneficiary has also been given the facility of LPG connection under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
Construction of 58 lakh strong houses in the city
Apart from this, a total of 58 lakh strong houses have been constructed under PM Awas Yojana (Urban). For this, an amount of Rs 1.18 lakh crore has been released so far.
Features of the plan
The specialty of PM Awas Yojana is that the owners of the houses received under it are made by the women member or joint. Along with this, toilet, kitchen, water and electricity facilities have also been provided in every house.
