Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Monday. First, he inaugurated the Prayagraj-Varanasi 6 lane highway. Till now it used to take six hours to go from Varanasi to Prayagraj by this road, but now this distance will be completed in three hours. This is his 23rd visit to the Parliamentary constituency as PM, while reaching his third term in the second term.
The last time he visited Kashi was on 16 February. PM Modi is coming on Dev Deepawali (Karthik Purnima) for the first time. At the same time, for the first time, they will go to Kashi Vishwanath Temple by the Ganges route. Taking stock of the development works of Vishwanath Corridor, he will reach Baba Vishwanath Dham and offer prayers there.
PM Kashipati will reach Lord Shiva's court by Alaknanda cruise
After the launch of the highway, Modi will fly to Domari by helicopter. Then from here they will go to Lord Avadhoot Ram Ghat by road and reach Alita Ghat on a cruise on Alaknanda.
His convoy from Lalita Ghat will come to the Vishwanath temple. Here, we will perform an on-site inspection of the development work of the corridor by doing puja. Will return to Rajghat by cruise and start the Deepotsav by lighting the lamp. This is where the holy path website will be launched. From Rajghat itself, Prime Minister Modi will leave for Ravidas Ghat by cruise. Chet Singh will watch a 10-minute laser show at the ghat.
Ravidas will reach Ghat and leave by car for Sarnath, the place of Lord Buddha. Here they will watch the light and sound show and then return to Delhi from Babatpur Airport. PM Modi will be in Kashi for about seven hours.
One and a half times more lamps than last time
All 84 ghats of Kashi on Dev Deepawali are illuminated with lamps. Every year millions of people reach to see this amazing sight. But this time the number of devotees has been limited due to the Corona crisis. Masks are mandatory for every person. Last year 1 million diyas were burnt here. But this time the number of lamps has been increased to 5 lakhs. There will also be cultural programs at 20-25 Ghats.
Aarti will perform 21 batukas and 42 girls
During this time, artworks have been made from the sand of the legend associated with them on 16 ghats. In front of Jain Ghat, the figure of Lord Jain, in front of Tulsi Ghat, the figure of Kalia Nag of world-famous Nag Nathiya and the figure of mother Annapurna Devi in front of Lalita Ghat have also been made. The Prime Minister himself will also don a lamp on Dev Diwali. During the Maha Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, 21 Batukas and 42 Kanya will join the Aarti. For security, drone flying in Kashi has been banned till December 1.
Importance of Dev Deepawali
It is believed that on the day of Dev Diwali, all the gods come to the Ghats of Benares. On the day of Kartik Purnima, Lord Shiva killed a demon named Tripurasura. After the slaughter of Tripurasura, all the gods and goddesses were happy to meet together. In Kashi, Dev is considered a wonderful combination of Deepawali. The virtue of donating lamps on this day is fruitful and of special importance. It is believed that Lord Bholenath himself came to earth and celebrated Diwali at Ganga Ghat with the gods at Nyari Kashi from three worlds. Therefore, this God Deepawali also has religious, spiritual, and cultural significance.
