Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky in New York on Monday (local time). During this time, PM Modi reiterated India's support for an early solution to the struggle in Ukraine, peace in the region, and restoration of stability. Apart from this, PM Modi also met Armenia Prime Minister Nicole Pashinyan and Vietnam President Tow Lam during the 'Future Summit' at the United Nations General Assembly.
On 23 August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky in Kyiv. The meeting was part of the historic journey of a war-torn country. After this meeting, Jailonski Gadgad appeared. He appreciated PM Modi's visit to Ukraine, saying that it is important that India is committed to international law and supports Kyiv's sovereignty and regional integrity.
Modi said in the post on X, 'I met President Jailnsky in New York. We are committed to implementing the results of our journey to Ukraine last month to strengthen bilateral relations and repeat India's support for early solutions to conflict in Ukraine and restoration of peace and stability.

After meeting PM Modi, Ukraine President Jailonsky tweeted that this is the third bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi this year. We are actively developing our relationships and working together to strengthen cooperation in different fields. The main focus of our dialogue was to enhance our conversation in international forums, especially the United Nations and G20, to implement the peace formula and prepare for the second peace summit. We had a concrete discussion on the opportunities available. I am grateful to you for the clear support of our sovereignty and regional integrity.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypt said during a special briefing that during the meeting, Jailonsky appreciated India's attention to the struggle in Ukraine and thanked Prime Minister Modi for his efforts to get out of it. Egyptian said that the two leaders also agreed to stay in close contact.

History of India-Ukraine Relations
India recognized Ukraine's independence in December 1991 after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Subsequently, on 17 January 1992, formal diplomatic relations between the two countries were established. India opened its embassy in Kyiv in 1992, while Ukraine opened its embassy in New Delhi in 1993. Prime Minister Modi's first visit to Ukraine was on 23 August since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1992.

Apart from Ukraine's President Jelnesky, PM Modi expressed happiness by meeting the Prime Minister of Armenia at the United Nations General Assembly and described the meeting as amazing. Apart from this, PM Modi also held bilateral talks with Vietnamese President Tow Lam. PM Modi congratulated President Lam for taking over the increased responsibilities. Along with this, he hoped for continuous cooperation towards strengthening bilateral relations between India and Vietnam.
