
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Virtual Summit of Nonline Movement (NAM) to discuss ways to fight the corona virus epidemic. The report says that the meeting will take place at around 4.30 pm Indian time and will also include External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. This will be the first time Modi will attend the NAM meeting since becoming Prime Minister in 2014. Modi is the first full-time Indian Prime Minister not to attend the NAM summit in 2016 and again in 2019. The last two summits were India represented by the Vice President in Venezuela in 2016 and Azerbaijan in 2019. Manmohan Singh attended the NAM meeting in 2012 in Tehran. Azerbaijan remained the chairman of the grouping until 2022 and a meeting is being held under the leadership of its president, Ilham Aliyev.
Other blocks such as the G20, BRICS and regional conglomerates such as SAARC have also held video conferences to discuss a coordinated approach to combat corona virus disease. Corona has affected more than 3.5 million people worldwide and killed 274,431 people. NAM is an organization representing the largest group of countries other than the United Nations and within it 120 developing countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America.

A total of 28,070 patients are being treated in various hospitals of the country. Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi are the states most affected by the infection.
