CSK defeated RR by 45 runs: Chennai Super Kings 2 in the points table with 2 wins, Jadeja and Moin overturned the match with 5 wickets in 4 overs.

In the 12th match of the IPL 2021 season, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 45 runs. Batting first after losing the toss at Mumbai's Wankhede, CSK scored 188 for 9 wickets in 20 overs. In response, the RR team could only manage 143 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. With this win, CSK has moved up to second in the points table after Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). This is Chennai's second win in 3 matches in a season. Earlier, CSK defeated Punjab by 6 wickets. At the same time, he suffered a 7-wicket defeat at the hands of the Delhi Capitals.

 

Chennai all-rounders Moin Ali and Ravindra Jadeja overturned the match within 4 overs. Both of them sent 5 players from Rajasthan to the pavilion between the 12th and 15th. Jadeja dismissed Jos Buttler and Shivam Dubey in the 12th over. After this, Moin sent David Miller in the 13th over and Ryan Pollen and Chris Morris in the 15th over. Jadeja also took 4 brilliant catches with 2 wickets. He took catches of Manan Vohra, Ryan, Morris, and Unadkat.

Rajasthan team lost 5 wickets within 8 runs

 

Rajasthan did not have a good start. Sam Karan gave Rajasthan 2 shocks. He first dismissed Manan Vohra. Vohra was dismissed for 14 runs off 11 balls. Jadeja caught his brilliant catch.

 

Sam then caught captain Sanju Samson to Dwayne Bravo. Samson could only score 1 run on 5 balls.

 

The RR team, which lost 2 wickets for 45 runs, was handled by Butler and Shivam. Both of them shared a 42-run partnership for the third wicket.

 

Butler, who was batting well, missed the Fifty. Jadeja broke this partnership. He bowled cleanly to Butler on the first ball of the 12th over. He was dismissed for 49 off 35 balls.

 

Rajasthan team could not even recover from this that Jadeja LBWed Shivam Dubey on the last ball of the same over. Shivam was dismissed for 17 runs off 20 balls.

 

The RR team, which lost 4 wickets for 90 runs, was expected to have Ryan and David Miller, the hero of the previous match. But Moin did not let them last. Moeen LBW Miller in the 13th over. He was dismissed for 2 runs off 5 balls.

 

After this, Moin took 2 more wickets in his next over (15th). He dismissed Ryan Parag (3 runs) and Chris Morris (0). The Rajasthan team lost 5 wickets between 87 and 95 runs.

 

However, after this Rahul Tewatia and Jaydev Unadkat took some good shots. But by then it was too late. Tewatia was dismissed by Dwayne Bravo in the 19th over. Tewatia was dismissed for 20 runs off 15 balls.

 

Jaydev Unadkat was dismissed for 24 runs off 17 balls. He was caught by Ravindra Jadeja in the last over by Shardul Thakur. In this way, the Rajasthan team could only score 143 runs for 9 wickets.

 

Bravo leads CSK to a respectable score

Dwayne Bravo finally scored an unbeaten 20 off 8 ball for CSK to take Chennai to a respectable score. CSK scored 61 runs in the last 5 overs and lost 4 wickets. Chris Morris took 2 wickets and Chetan Sakaria took 3 wickets from RR.

 

Morris dismisses Duplessis for 5th time in IPL

 

Chennai received its first setback as Rituraj Gaikwad. He was dismissed by 10 runs. Rituraj was caught by Mustafizur Rahman in the hands of Shivam Dubey. They failed for the third consecutive match. Earlier, Rituraj had scored just 10 runs in 2 matches.

 

After this Faf Duplessis took some great shots. But his weakness in front of RR bowler Chris Morris was once again known. He scored 33 runs off 17 balls. He was sent to the pavilion by Morris for the 5th time in 13 innings in the IPL.

 

After falling 2 wickets for 45 runs, Moin Ali and Suresh Raina shared a 33-run partnership for the third wicket. Moin was dismissed for 26 off 20 balls. He was sent to the pavilion by Rahul Tewatia in his very first over. It was also his first wicket in the season.

 

After this Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina took over Chennai's innings. Both of them shared a 45-run partnership for 26 balls for the fourth wicket. Rajasthan fast bowler Sakaria dismissed both Rayudu and Raina in the 14th over. Rayudu scored 27 runs off 17 balls. At the same time, Raina was out after scoring 18 runs from 15 balls. Half the CSK team had returned to the pavilion for 125 runs.

 

MS Dhoni, playing the 200th match as the captain of CSK, could not do anything special and was dismissed for 18 runs off 17 balls. He was caught by Sakaria at the hands of Jos Buttler. This was Sakariya's third wicket.

 

Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed for 8 runs off 7 balls. He was caught by Morris at the hands of Sanju Samson. After this, Sam Karan (13) and Shardul Thakur (1) were run out in the last over of CSK's innings. Bravo hit the last ball six to bring the team to 188 runs.

 

Dhoni's 200th match as captain of CSK

This was Dhoni's 200th match as a CSK captain. He has captained 177 matches in the IPL and 23 matches in the Champions League so far. Earlier Dhoni played the 200th match in IPL for the Chennai team in the last match against Punjab. Dhoni's success rate as captain has been 59%.

 

4-4 foreign players in both teams
