
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the inaugural session of the All India Conference of Law Ministers and Law Secretaries through video conference today. The two-day conference is being hosted by the Ministry of Law and Justice at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. The conference will begin at 10:30 am on Saturday. PM Modi tweeted that this forum will witness discussions on various topics related to the Indian legal system.
This conference will be able to improve cooperation in law
A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said that it aims to provide a common forum for policymakers to discuss issues related to the Indian legal and judicial system. Through this conference, the States and Union Territories will be able to share their best practices, exchange new ideas and improve their cooperation.

The PMO informed that the conference will be held on topics such as alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as arbitration for speedy and cost-effective justice, upgrading the overall legal infrastructure, removing obsolete laws, improving access to justice, reducing pendency of cases, and ensuring speedy will discuss. Bringing uniformity in proposals relating to state bills for settlement, better Centre-State coordination, and strengthening the legal system of the State, among others, will be the main focus of this conference.
