The situation in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) continues to deteriorate. Following the Awami Action Committee (AAC), the police in PoK have also taken to the streets to protest against the Pakistani government. Local police in PoK are deeply resentful of the Pakistani government.
Law and order have been disrupted in PoK following a police strike. A complete shutdown has been declared across PoK today due to the police's demands not being met. The Pakistani government has deployed a large number of police forces to control the situation in PoK.
Pakistani Government Sends Army
To manage the situation in PoK, the Pakistani government has deployed 7,000 police personnel and Frontier Force personnel to PoK. All these personnel have been sent from the capital, Islamabad.
Why is the police anger erupting?
PoK police personnel have numerous complaints against the Pakistani government. They had placed 11 demands before the Pakistani government, ranging from salary increases to risk allowances, housing, and benefits of government schemes. However, the Pakistani government rejected their demands, angering the police, who took to the streets.
Common people also launched a protest.
In addition to the police, the Awami Action Committee (AAC) has also launched a protest against the Pakistani army. Thousands of people have taken to the streets to protest. Road blockades have been imposed in many areas. To control the situation, the government has suspended internet access in PoK.
