Former Indian badminton player Prakash Padukone believes that the T20 World Cup match between the two countries should be organized even after the political tension between India and Pakistan.
Don't mix sports and politics
Padukone told ANI- I feel that sports should not be mixed with politics and go ahead with this match. This is my personal opinion and I have no right to comment on whether it happens or not.
Demand to cancel the ongoing match
The India-Pakistan match will be played in Dubai on October 24, but before that, there is a demand to cancel the match. The reason for this is the targeting of non-Kashmiris by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists are targeting non-Kashmiris and killing them. However, the soldiers of the army are also giving a befitting reply to the terrorists. In such a situation, many people associated with politics are demanding that till Pakistan does not desist from its antics, there should be no cricket between India and Pakistan and the T20 World Cup match should also be canceled.
AAP party also raised the issue
The Aam Aadmi Party had demanded that the Indian cricket team should be ruled out of the match against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup to be held in Dubai. AAP MLA Atishi had said- We are seeing that terrorist attacks are happening on people in Kashmir. BJP and Prime Minister Modi will also agree with the stand that cricket matches should not be held now. While in opposition, even when he was the Chief Minister, his stand was that there should be no match with Pakistan in such an environment. Until such attacks on Indian soil stop, it is not right to play matches like this.
Rajeev Shukla said that there will be a match
However, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has made it clear with one of his statements that the Indo-Pak match will be played at any cost. He said- We strongly condemn the attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Strict action should be taken against terrorists. As far as the match between India and Pakistan is concerned, we cannot refuse to play because of ICC's international commitments. You have to play against teams in ICC tournaments.
