Preparations are underway to create the 76th district in Uttar Pradesh; parts of these two districts could be merged to form 'Kalyan Singh Nagar'.

A new district named Kalyan Singh Nagar could be created by incorporating the Atrauli-Gangiri and Dibai areas of the Bulandshahr districts. The state government has taken action following a demand from Rajveer Singh, son of former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh and former MP from Etah.

A letter has been sent from the office of the Commissioner and Secretary of the Revenue Council to the District Magistrates of both districts. It has requested a report on the possibility of creating a new district called "Kalyan Singh Nagar" by redrawing the boundaries of Aligarh and Bulandshahr districts. Atrauli could be the focal point of this district.

Atrauli was the birthplace and workplace of the late Kalyan Singh, who was a two-time Chief Minister, Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan, and a two-time Member of Parliament. He was elected MLA from here 10 times. Currently, his grandson Sandeep Singh is the Basic Education Minister.

Former MP Rajveer Singh "Raju Bhaiya" recently sent a detailed letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to create Kalyan Singh Nagar by incorporating the Atrauli-Gangiri areas of the district and the Dibai areas of the Bulandshahr districts. In it, he said that his father dedicated his life for the overall development of the state, but his birthplace, Atrauli, and workplace place Dibai area, are still deprived of the expected development.

During his tour, people tell him that Babuji brought about all-around development of the entire state, but the public still wants his birthplace and workplace should also be recognized. Just as districts have been named after other great men, a new district named after Kalyan Singh could be created to honor his contributions.

Following this, Rajkumar Dwivedi, the officer in charge of the office of the Commissioner and Secretary of the Revenue Council, sent a letter to the District Magistrates of both districts on October 17th. This letter, sent from Lucknow, will soon be received by the District Magistrates of both districts. It states that a report on the creation of a new district based on the re-demarcation of the tehsils of Aligarh and Bulandshahr should be prepared in accordance with the prescribed standards and sent through the Divisional Commissioner.

Atrauli Could Become the Headquarters

The former Chief Minister's birthplace is Madhauli village in Atrauli. Therefore, a new district named Kalyan Singh Nagar could be created with Atrauli as its center. It is considered geographically suitable between the Aligarh and Bulandshahr districts. Demands for Atrauli to become a district have been raised in the past as well.

Both Political and Emotional Importance

This proposal is considered very important not only from an administrative but also from an emotional perspective. Kalyan Singh was among the BJP leaders who contested the assembly elections from Atrauli for several consecutive terms. He won. During the Ram Mandir movement, he gave a new dimension to the politics of the state.
