A racist signboard is placed outside a post office in Adelaide, Australia. It is written that Indians cannot take photographs. The Indians living there have objected to this. Hundreds of people in the Indian community are seeing it linked to racism. However, seeing the controversy growing, Australia Post apologized and said that they would remove it soon.

what was written on the board

Due to our lighting and the quality of the Photo background, we, unfortunately, cannot take Indian photos…. After which the whole controversy arose. Indian community leader Rajendra Pandey said I thought they were talking about my color. Rajendra told that many people have taken it personally.

Telecom Minister said – such things are unacceptable

Australia's Telecom Minister and NSW Labor Party President Michelle Rowland said after the matter took hold - the words written on the sign board outside the Adelaide Post Office are unacceptable. I have written to Australia Post. Will update you soon.

On the other hand, a spokeswoman for Australia Post said that the signboard was a result of a large number of Indian passport and visa applications being rejected because of the photographs attached to them. The rules for acceptance of Indian photos in Australia are different and Australia Post is not able to fulfill its criteria for this.
